Savannah Magazine debuted in the summer of 1990 with
64 pages and 60 advertisers. The cover of the four-color publication
featured a local, but nationally ranked, softball team. Savannah
had its first lifestyles magazine.
Savannah Magazine's readership and popularity grew
rapidly, and the magazine went from quarterly to every other month
in 1992. Today, a total of 11,000 copies of each issue are printed.
In 2003, a bonus HOMES issue was added; and in 2004,
two bonus issues were produced.
Savannah Magazine focuses on the personality and lifestyles
of coastal Georgia and southern South Carolina. Today, the magazine
averages 120 pages and 130-140 advertisers per issue. A typical
issue contains articles about Savannah's most interesting citizens,
its rich history, unusual homes or decorating/renovation ideas,
the arts, great food and great restaurants, travel destinations
and business news. Savannah is a unique city, filled with history
and vitality. It is Savannah Magazine's mission to
reflect the region's unique personality to its readers.
Subscribers come from almost all 50 states and three foreign countries.
Many out-of-town readers are previous residents or visitors, eager
to maintain contact with this exquisite city.
During its history, the magazine has received more than 50 national,
regional and local awards for content, design, photography and advertising.
