Late in 1997,
Morris purchased the Best Read Guide Franchise Corporation,
a company founded nine years earlier in Massachusetts. In addition
to holding the 11 franchisees, Morris has developed proprietary
Best Read Guides in nine other U.S. travel markets: Daytona
Beach, Orlando, St. Augustine and Tampa, Fla.; Savannah, Ga.;
Las Vegas, Nev.; Charleston, S.C.; and Amarillo and San Antonio,
Texas. Every other month, the group also publishes Nevada
Hospitality under a contract with Nevada hotel and restaurant
associations.
Digest-sized magazines, Best Read Guides help tourists
decide what to do, where to go, what to eat and what to buy
while visiting in each location.
Unlike most competitors, Best Read Guides offer
rich editorial coverage. Features typically include historical
spots, arts and entertainment, nature trips, local folklore
