Morris Communications Names Chief Digital Marketing Officer

Augusta, GA November 2, 2011 Heather Nagel-Doughtie, director of digital for has been named chief digital marketing officer for Morris Communications Company, LLC.

In her new role, Nagel-Doughtie will oversee core digital branding functions for MCC and help build and market MCC's business units across the Internet.

"It is vital that we become great marketers in the digital space, taking advantage of all of the tools on the Internet - and in the social networks - on behalf of our company, our visitors and our customers."

Nagel-Doughtie joined The Holland Sentinel staff in 1996 as the manager of Internet. She became the manager of content development for Morris DigitalWorks in 2000 and served as director of market development, strategy and innovation, and specialty media. In 2004 she became the director of Skirt!.

"I'm thrilled to take on this opportunity to help build and market our digital brands and I look forward to the challenge," Nagel-Doughtie said.

She is a graduate of Grand Valley State University with a degree in advertising and marketing. Nagel-Doughtie and her husband Dan, have a son, Benjamin, age 5.
