Morris Equine Group Acquires Performance Horse Magazine

AUGUSTA, GA — April 12, 2005 Morris Equine Group, the equine and Western-related magazine publishing arm of Morris Communications Co., has acquired Performance Horse magazine from Horsepower Media, LLC in Eugene, Ore. The announcement was made today by Morris Chairman and Chief Executive Officer William S. Morris III and equine group publisher Carl Mullins.

Published monthly, Performance Horse is a glossy, full-color publication that provides a comprehensive look at the Western performance horse industry. Editorial content focuses on feature and instructional articles for readers with a high interest in cutting, reining, reined cow horse and other Western performance horse disciplines.

"As a magazine completely dedicated to performance horses, this title is a perfect addition to the Morris family of equine-related publications," Morris said. "We are pleased to include Performance Horse in our magazine division and look forward to years of serving all performance horse enthusiasts."

Mullins said that while the ownership of Performance Horse has changed, the high quality the magazine is known for will not change. "This magazine has established itself by serving a unique niche in the Western performance horse market," Mullins said. "We will continue to offer an in-depth focus on the tremendous horses and individuals that are involved in this industry each month in Performance Horse."
