Morris Names Gregg Ireland as Publisher of Topeka Capital-Journal

AUGUSTA, GA — Oct 18, 2011 — Morris Publishing Group announced today that Gregg A. Ireland has been appointed publisher of the Topeka (Kan.) Capital-Journal.

Ireland had served as controller of the Capital-Journal since 2003. He also had served as interim publisher in Topeka since May, when publisher Mark Nusbaum was named Morris' corporate vice president of operations.

"The Capital-Journal has had an excellent record of performance for a number of years, and Gregg is one of the reasons," Derek May, executive vice president of the Morris group. "He knows this business -- and the Capital-Journal -- inside and out, and he's well equipped to continue its success."

Prior to joining Morris, Ireland served as an internal auditor and internal audit manager for Stauffer Communications Inc. He came to Morris as an internal auditor in 1995 when the company acquired the Stauffer group.
