Morris Publishing Group Names Jim Dyer as General Manager of Main Street Digital

Jim Dyer

AUGUSTA, GA — October 23, 2012 — Jim Dyer, vice president of Morris Digital Solutions, has been named general manager of Main Street Digital, a new division of Morris Publishing Group, LLC. Main Street Digital will serve local businesses in Morris newspaper markets by offering a full suite of digital marketing solutions ranging from search engine optimization and marketing, website origination for both web and mobile applications, email and text marketing and social media management. The company will also offer highly advanced targeted and retargeted display advertising.

"I am thrilled to be provided the opportunity to take such cutting-edge products to the local marketplace. Small and medium-sized businesses have traditionally been underserved in the digital space. Main Street will enable local businesses to get access to the best of the web at very economical prices," said Dyer.

During Dyer's 28-year career he has served in various leadership positions in newspaper, video and online organizations, most notably as a member of the original management team at Autotrader.com, where he spent six years from 1998 to 2004.

"The launch of Main Street Digital will allow us to serve local businesses in new ways," said William S. Morris IV, chief executive officer of Morris Publishing Group. "We look forward to Jim's contributions to this effort."

“Jim has been an entrepreneurial force in our company, with a proven track record in digital sales,” said Derek May, executive vice-president of Morris Publishing Group.  “Jim’s background and experience make him an ideal fit to lead our launch of Main Street Digital.”

In his new role, Dyer will continue to manage Morris Digital Solutions, an all-digital sales group operating outside Morris markets.

Dyer holds a bachelors degree from The University of Arizona.
