Morris Publishing Group’s Jeff Hartley Promoted to VP of Consumer Revenue

AUGUSTA, GA— January 8, 2013 — Jeff Hartley, vice president of circulation for Morris Publishing Group, LLC has been promoted to vice president of consumer revenue, effective immediately. This new role will focus on increasing value to consumers, both on digital and print platforms and increasing consumer revenue.

“I’m very pleased to have someone with Jeff’s experience in this new role,“ said William S. Morris IV, chief executive officer of Morris Publishing Group.

“Jeff has shown exceptional leadership throughout the years and most recently with the critical deployment of our All-Access program," said Derek May, executive vice president of Morris Publishing Group.  “His creative and innovative approach to our consumer products makes him the perfect person to tackle this job.“

Hartley is a 33-year newspaper and media veteran having served as circulation director of The Augusta Chronicle, circulation manager of The Greenville News, sales and marketing manager of The Tallahassee Democrat along with other sales and marketing/operations executive positions at The Jackson Sun, Gainesville Times and The Pensacola News Journal.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to focus on what is quickly becoming a critically important area for our media markets and the industry,“ said Hartley. “Morris is an innovative company and I look forward to working with this outstanding team to build better products and increase revenue beyond the traditional platforms.”

Hartley is a member of the NAA/ABC Circulation Subcommittee and editor of their recent publication, NAA/ABC Guide to U.S. Newspaper Digital Editions. He is also the founder of www.digitalfirstnewspapers.com, a very popular media industry blog with a focus on digital, social and mobile developments and consumer product strategies. 

Hartley and his wife Kathy have four children and reside in Evans, Georgia.
