Morris Visitor Publications Expands Into Australia
Acquires Where® branded publications in Australia, adding to global travel information portfolio

Augusta, Ga. (Feb. 7, 2014)–Morris Visitor Publications, the global travel information business division of Morris Communications Company, announced today the acquisition of the Where® branded travel publications throughout Australia.

The print publications and digital assets were purchased from Carrington Publishing Group, previous owner of the Where® brand in Australia. The acquisition includes monthly Where® magazines in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, and other specialty travel information publications and maps, as well as the website www.whereaustralia.com.au. This is the first expansion of Morris Visitor Publications into the Australian market. With more than 1.1 million copies distributed annually, Australia’s Where® magazines have been published for over 25 years.

The acquisition of the Where® brand and associated travel information products in Australia is part of Morris Communications Company’s global consolidation of the Where® brand. Today, Morris Visitor Publications owns worldwide rights to the Where® trademark, with operations and licensees in the United States, Australia, Europe, China and Southeast Asia. Where® magazines are also published in Canada by St. Joseph Communications Media Group.

During the transition, Carrington Publishing Group owner Tony Hutton will continue his role as managing director to assist in merging Where Australia with Morris Visitor Publications.
