Morris Publishing Group Names Alan English Publisher of the Log Cabin Democrat

AUGUSTA, GA — October 12, 2012 — Alan English, vp of audience at TAC Media and The Augusta Chronicle, has been named publisher of the Log Cabin Democrat and thecabin.net in Conway, Arkansas.

English, a 25-year veteran of the media industry, is vice president of audience at The Augusta (Ga.) Chronicle, responsible for product development, marketing, new media and news. He joined The Chronicle in 2009 as executive editor after serving as a top editor at The Times, Shreveport, La., since 2000.

Morris Publishing Group Announces the Call for Redemption of all of its Public Debt

AUGUSTA, GA. — July 12, 2012 — Morris Publishing Group, LLC, today announces the call for redemption of all of its public debt. The company elected to redeem all outstanding notes under its publicly filed Indenture, and deposited funds with the Trustee to pay off these notes on Aug. 10, 2012.  Morris Publishing refinanced its debt under more favorable terms with CB&T, of Columbus, Georgia, a division of Synovus Bank.

AUGUSTA, GA — May 18, 2012 ­— Les Simpson, publisher of AGN Media and the Amarillo Globe-News, has been named group publisher of Morris Publishing Group.

In this new position, Simpson will continue his role at AGN Media and the Amarillo Globe-News and will also oversee Morris properties in Brainerd, Minn., Conway, Ark., Juneau, Alaska, and Kenai, Alaska.
