AUGUSTA, Ga.— Karen F. Randall has been named director of the Morris Communications Co. corporate communications department. The announcement was made by MCC President William S. Morris IV, and is effective immediately. Randall succeeds retired director Jo Ann S. Hoffman.

Randall brings nearly 30 years of communications experience to Morris. Most recently, Randall was executive director for The Walker Foundation in Spartanburg, S.C., a foundation that supports the South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind. Previously, Randall worked in communications and public relations for Advantica Restaurant Group, which includes restaurants such as Denny's and El Pollo Loco, starting as a public relations manager and rising to vice president of communications. Randall's experience also includes work in various communications and public relations roles for T&M Investments - a McDonald's franchisee in Savannah, the Savannah Symphony Society and the Insurance Information Institute.

Randall has also served as an adjunct professor of public relations and communications at the University of South Carolina in Spartanburg. Randall holds a master's degree in journalism and mass communications from the University of South Carolina and a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Georgia.
