McGaha And Woods Receive Top Advertising Award
From Morris Publishing Group

AUGUSTA, Ga.- Cindy McGaha and Jack Woods received the 2007 William S. (Billy) Morris III Award for Advertising Excellence Thursday night during a presentation ceremony honoring top advertising professionals from Morris Publishing Group, LLC.

"Cindy and Jack are shining examples of top-notch sales professionals," said William S. Morris IV, CEO of Morris Publishing Group. "The hard work and tireless dedication of these outstanding individuals have helped their newspapers serve both advertisers and readers in their communities."

Cindy McGaha, who won the award for metro newspapers, is an advertising representative at the Lubbock (Texas) Avalanche-Journal. She joined the newspaper in June 1996. She serves on the board of directors for the American Red Cross in Lubbock.

Jack Woods, who won the award for community newspapers, is a sales marketing executive at The Oak Ridger in Oak Ridge, Tenn. Woods joined the newspaper in July 2004. He is a member of the Oak Ridge Business Association and a member of The Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce.

The honorees will receive, among other things, an all-expense-paid trip to the Newspaper Association of America's annual marketing conference, free gasoline for one year and two roundtrip airline tickets to anywhere in the contiguous United States.

The William S. (Billy) Morris III Award for Advertising Excellence is named for the chairman and CEO of the company. It recognizes two winners of the President's Club Award for special achievement in advertising. One is chosen from the metro newspapers and the other from the community newspapers.
