Augusta, Ga. - Morris Communications Corp. has engaged Veronis, Suhler & Associates LLC, New York City, to advise and assist in the previously announced sale of four properties in the company's community newspaper division.

Veronis Suhler is a leading merchant bank dedicated exclusively to the media communications and information industries. Managing Director Kevin M. Lavalla will lead the Morris project.

The properties for sale are The Newton (Kan.) Kansan; The Examiner, Blue Springs, Mo.; The Examiner, Independence, Mo.; and The Oak Ridger, Oak Ridge, Tenn. Town & Country News, a weekly shopper publication in Oak Grove, Mo., is also included.

Morris Communications is a privately held media company with diversified holdings that include newspaper and magazine publishing, outdoor advertising, radio broadcasting, book publishing and distribution, and computer services.
