JOINS MORRIS COMMUNICATIONS
Augusta,
Ga. - Steve Yelvington has been named manager of Web site
development for Morris Digital Works, the online services
division of Morris Communications Corp. He assumed his new responsibilities
Jan. 2.
Yelvington will manage all the
Morris production units, including Horsecity.com and the newly
launched travel portal, Excursia.com. In addition, he will be
responsible for the division's content support efforts for all
Morris properties worldwide.
"Steve has a high profile and
a reputation of respect in electronic media, and we are delighted
to welcome him to the Morris team," said President Will Morris.
Yelvington, a former reporter
and editor for newspapers in Illinois, Missouri and Minnesota,
has been in the forefront of new media development in the newspaper
industry. He was founding editor of startribune.com, executive
editor of Cox Interactive Media in Atlanta, and is a frequent
speaker at Internet conferences in the United States and Europe.
