CINDY ALLEN TO BE PUBLISHER OF THE MORNING SUN

Augusta, Ga. - Cindy Allen today assumed the position of publisher of The Morning Sun, Pittsburg, Kan. The announcement was made by William S. Morris III, chairman and chief executive officer of Morris Communications, parent company of the Sun.

Allen served as both managing editor and executive editor of the Sun during her 11-year tenure there from 1988 to 1999. For the past two years, she has been general manager of the Log Cabin Democrat in Conway, Ark.

"We are delighted to have Cindy return to Pittsburg as publisher. She has an outstanding history of dedication to that community and is committed to community coverage and service," said Morris. "She has plans to take The Morning Sun to an even higher level of news and advertising quality."
