AGREES TO SELL ARKANSAS CITY TRAVELER
Augusta,
Ga. - Morris Communications today announced that it has
signed a letter of intent with Winfield Publishing Co., Winfield,
Kan., to sell The Arkansas City (Kan.) Traveler,
a daily newspaper with a circulation of approximately 4,800.
Morris acquired the Traveler
in 1995 when it purchased the assets of Stauffer Communications
Inc. of Topeka, Kan.
"We've enjoyed our association
with this fine newspaper," said President Will Morris. "However,
our current business strategy calls for greater emphasis on
our markets in other areas."
