SCOT
MORRISSEY NAMED PUBLISHER IN CONWAY, ARK.
Augusta,
Ga. --Scot Morrissey, general manager of the Log Cabin
Democrat in Conway, Ark., has been named publisher of the
daily newspaper.
The announcement was made by Will
Morris, president of Augusta-based Morris Communications Corp.,
parent company of the Democrat.
Morrissey succeeds Michael T.
Hengel, who earlier this week was named publisher of a Morris
daily newspaper in Michigan.
"Scot has excelled in the second
spot at the Democrat and, thus, was our obvious choice
to become publisher," Morris said.
Prior to coming to the Log
Cabin Democrat, Morrissey held positions with a number of
other Morris Communications-owned publications. He was publisher
of The Glenwood Post in Glenwood Springs, Colo., and
general manager of the Western Slope Publishing Group. Morris
sold its Colorado properties in November 2000.
Earlier, Morrissey had worked
for The Examiner in Independence, Mo., and The Examiner
in nearby Blue Springs, Mo., as a photographer, photo editor
and quality control coordinator.
