AUGUSTA, Ga. David B. Meadows has been named publisher of the Dodge City Daily Globe, a Morris-owned daily newspaper in Dodge City, Kan. The announcement was made today by William S. Morris IV, president and chief executive officer, and is effective Sept. 7. Meadows succeeds Terry G. Cochran.
Meadows currently serves as general manager for another Morris daily newspaper in Kansas, The Topeka Capital-Journal. He has been with Morris since 1994, hired as prepress manager for the Savannah Morning News before being promoted to assistant production director in 1996. In 1998, Meadows was named support services director for the Morning News. He began his duties as general manager for the Capital-Journal in 2002. Prior to working for Morris, Meadows spent 10 years with Gannett.
"David's 20 years of experience in diverse aspects of the newspaper industry make him an excellent choice for this position as publisher," Morris said. "He has a strong record of leadership within our company that I am sure will continue in Dodge City."
