TIMOTHY ANDERSON NAMED PUBLISHER OF BLUFFTON TODAY

AUGUSTA, Ga.Timothy M. Anderson has been named publisher of Bluffton (S.C.) Today, replacing Larry Miller who has accepted a publisher's position in his home state of Oklahoma.

The announcement was made by William S. Morris IV, president of Morris Communications Company, LLC, and chief executive officer of Morris Publishing Group, LLC. Anderson also will oversee nondaily newspapers owned by Morris Communications in Hardeeville and Jasper, S.C.Bluffton Today, an innovative daily publication that features significant user-driven content, was started earlier this year evolving from the Carolina Morning News edition of the Savannah (Ga.) Morning News.

"Larry Miller has done a tremendous job of launching this newspaper and spearheading it through its infancy," said Morris. "While we are disappointed to see him leave, we are fortunate to have someone with Tim's abilities on staff and ready to take over."

Julian Miller, publisher of the Savannah Morning News with oversight of the Bluffton, Jasper and Hardeeville newspapers, expressed appreciation to Larry Miller for his contributions to the three newspapers and confidence in Tim Anderson.

"Tim knows Bluffton and the advertisers and community leaders and he is well respected by them," Miller said. "He is a proven leader who is well-qualified to take this newspaper and our other South Carolina properties to the levels we expect to achieve."

Anderson, 49, became assistant advertising director of the Savannah Morning News and advertising director of Bluffton Today earlier this year. He joined the Morning News in 2003 as classified advertising director after serving as manager of classified advertising and new media at The Post and Courier in Charleston, S.C.

He began his newspaper career in the early '80s at the Winston-Salem (N.C.) Journal where in 11 years he held sales and management positions in the classified and retail advertising departments. He also spent six years as director of classified advertising for Cox Ohio Publishing, publishers of the Dayton Daily News and Springfield News-Sun.
