AUGUSTA, Ga.— Joanne C. Gosselin has been named general manager of the Amarillo (Texas) Globe-News, a newly created position at the newspaper. The announcement was made today by Globe-News Publisher Les Simpson and Morris Publishing Group Chief Executive Officer William S. Morris IV.

Gosselin has been with the Globe-News since 1984 when she joined the newspaper in retail advertising sales. She was promoted to retail advertising manager in 1990 and to advertising director in December 2001. Before joining the Globe-News, Gosselin had worked in the advertising department at the Corpus Christi Caller-Times. Gosselin, a native of Kalamazoo, Mich., is a graduate of Western Michigan University and West Texas A&M University.

"Joanne has had tremendous success in the advertising arena during her career and has consistently performed at a very high level," Morris said. "This will provide a great opportunity for her to learn more about total newspaper operations and prepare her for new opportunities in the future."

James C. Currow, Morris executive vice president for newspapers, said, "Joanne is an extremely gifted executive with wonderful talent and ability that will suit her well in this new role. She led the advertising department to several outstanding years during her tenure and she will make an even bigger contribution in the position of general manager."
