AUGUSTA, Ga.— Mark A. Cohen has been named vice president of the eastern division of Morris Publishing Group LLC. The announcement was made by Morris Publishing Group Chief Executive Officer Will Morris.

Cohen, a native of Ohio, has served as vice president of CNHI for the past four years. In this position he was responsible for 19 newspapers in the Indiana division headquartered near Indianapolis. Mr. Cohen held previous positions with Thomson Newspapers as vice president of advertising of the Indiana group and as Niche Publications director.

"We are very pleased to have attracted such a high level, experienced publishing executive and look forward to working with Mark," said Morris.

The newspapers in the Eastern Group include The Daily Ardmoreite, Ardmore, Okla.; The Examiner, Independence and Blue Springs, Mo.; Hannibal (Mo.) Courier-Post; Hillsdale (Mich.) Daily News; The Holland (Mich.) Sentinel; Log Cabin Democrat, Conway, Ark.; The Oak Ridger, Oak Ridge, Tenn.; The Shawnee (Okla.) News-Star; and the News Chief, Winter Haven, Fla. The group also includes nine shoppers and other specialized publications.

All of these newspapers also have web sites that are an integral part of their communities.
