AUGUSTA, Ga. Robin L. Quillon has been named publisher of the News Chief in Winter Haven, Fla. The announcement was made today by Morris Publishing Group President and Chief Executive Officer William S. Morris IV and is effective June 6. Quillon succeeds Wayne L. Ezell who is moving to Jacksonville, Fla., to become reader advocate at The Florida Times -Union.
Quillon has 14 years of newspaper publishing experience with a strong background in advertising. His most recent position was general manager and vice president with the Frederick News Post in Frederick, Md. Prior to that, he worked for Media General for five years as publisher of the Culpeper Star-Exponent in Culpeper, Va. Quillon also spent four years in various advertising positions for newspapers in Virginia and New York, including account executive, manager and director. He is a native of Charlottesville, Va., and attended Piedmont College of Virginia.
