AUGUSTA, Ga.— Morris Publishing Group, LLC announced today an agreement to license Skirt! magazine to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, a division of Cox Enterprises Inc., for publication in the Atlanta area.

"We are pleased to be working with Cox to bring Skirt! to the Atlanta area," said James C. Currow, executive vice president of Morris Publishing Group. "Atlanta is a great fit for Skirt! and we see this agreement as an outstanding opportunity to expand the magazine into a new market."

Skirt! Atlanta is scheduled to launch on May 1, and is set for an initial distribution of 100,000 in Atlanta.

Skirt! magazine was started in Charleston, S.C., in 1994 by publisher Nikki Hardin and was purchased by Morris in November 2003. Skirt! is rapidly expanding in the Southeast and now publishes magazines in Augusta, Ga., Charlotte, N.C., Columbia, S.C., Jacksonville, Fla., and Savannah, Ga.

"This is the first licensing agreement we have made with our Skirt! brand and we are currently in discussions to license it in other markets," said William S. Morris IV, chief executive officer of Morris Publishing Group. "Skirt! has added five markets to its distribution since we acquired the magazine just over two years ago. This growth is a good indicator of how successful the magazine is in reaching its target audience."

Skirt! is a monthly magazine for women distributed free in markets across the Southeast. The magazine features eye-catching graphics and layout with essays and articles on issues important to women.
