Scott Watrous Named President Of The Globe Pequot Press

AUGUSTA, Ga.— Scott Watrous has been named president of The Globe Pequot Press, a publisher of travel and outdoor books. The announcement was made by William S. Morris III, chairman and CEO of Morris Communications Co., the parent company of Globe Pequot.

Globe Pequot is a leading publisher and distributor of regional travel, outdoor recreation and leisure books for the United States. Globe Pequot annually publishes more than 500 titles and distributes 300 new titles yearly for other publishers.

Watrous begins May 8 and will be based at the Globe Pequot Press headquarters in Guilford, Conn.

"Scott brings a wealth of experience with more than 25 years in the book publishing industry," Morris said. "He is a proven leader with an exceptional track record in business development, and we look forward to his leadership at Globe Pequot."

Watrous is chief operating officer and publisher of Adams Media Publishers, a division of F+W Publications Inc., where he has served since 2001. Prior to Adams Media, Watrous spent 14 years working for Random House. While there, he was named vice president of sales and marketing and served in that role for seven years. He was previously a sales representative and national accounts director.

Watrous also had sales roles at Simon & Schuster and began his book career at Paperback Booksmith in Scranton, Pa. He has a bachelor's degree in literature from the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania.

The Globe Pequot Press is owned and operated by Morris Communications Co., LLC, a privately held media company with diversified holdings.
